Jaguar Update
It seems that alls quiet on the Jaguar front.  Surfside residents report no missing
chickens, pigs, etc so it's safe to think the reign of perceived terror is over.
Evidence of the Jaguar's visit are the paw
prints on the beach next to
Charlie/Linda and dog bones and dog collar found near the
lagoon.  Smaller prints
were found indicative of a cub.
The Weather
Sun, rain, breeze.  But. There have been some freak winds that have caused a little
damage here and there.  Robert/Liz had the top of their palapa blown off but poor
Charlie/Linda fared a little
worse.   And the rain has not been kind to the road.
Fire Prevention
For those who read the last exciting issue of the Surfside Beachcomber you will
recall pictures of the terrible fire at The Purple Space Monkey.  Fire is a concern
here on the peninsula and some steps are being taken to address this issue.  These
are in the embryonic stage at this time and more will be said about this as events
develop.  In the meantime, Dale Harshbager has taken steps along these lines.  He
has imported a portable cart fire pump capable of 150 gallons per minute at 110 psi
which is a lot of (excuse the expression) fire power.  He has also installed a dry
hydrant system from the Lagoon which will protect his property and the
surrounding area.  Anybody wishing information regarding this system can email
Dale.
New Guest House in Placencia Village
Okay okay - this is not Surfside but the Guest House is being brought to you by
Surfside residents Charlie and Linda.  They are in the process of building the
guest house and hope to have it completed by Christmas.  You can get more details
